East Gippsland are proud owners of a Bio Acoustic Recorder (BAR)

BirdLife East Gippsland is now the proud owners of a Bio Acoustic Recorder (BAR), a clever bit of digital electronics made by Frontier Labs in Brisbane. This has been made possible by the new Gippsland Lakes Advisory Committee and the East Gippsland Landcare Network in agrant to BirdLife East Gippsland to extend the work we have been doing with our three spotting telescopes awarded a couple of years ago. From here on we need people interested in being involved in bird call collecting and the analysing process. Being able to set up a BAR in the field to record a sample of each morning and evening chorus, is only the beginning of the story.
