We hosted the 3rd Biannual Cross Border Campout

BirdLife Hamilton hosted the 3rd Biannual South West Vic – South Eastern SA cross border campout in September. These campouts were started to enable BirdLife branch members from both sides of the border to meet up socially and enjoy a few days birdwatching in each other’s territory. We welcomed guests from Adelaide with Birds SA, Birdlife Warrnambool, BirdLife Nhill, a few interested travellers and of course our local members. We were able to showcase our region with outings featuring Hamilton, Melville Forest, Balmoral and Dunkeld locations. We targeted semi-urban, rural, water and bush birds. Unfortunately the water birds seemed the most elusive having far too many water options throughout a soggy Australia!
