Once in a lifetime opportunity - Geelong International Bird Sanctuary

Our Conservation Officer Connie Warren has teamed up with local environmental groups in Geelong to campaign for the protection of the former Moolap salt works as a wetland for migratory and resident shorebirds. The Moolap Action Network brings people together from the Geelong Field Naturalists Club, Geelong Environment Council, Geelong Sustainability, Victorian National Parks Association, Bellarine Landcare Group, Bellarine Catchment Network, Trust for Nature, BirdLife Bellarine Peninsula branch, the Jane Goodall Institute and keen Geelong residents.

The Victorian Government is currently determining the future of Moolap Wetlands. Join us in calling for the establishment of Victoria's first International Bird Sanctuary in Geelong.
