2016 Twitchathon raises $32,036.37!

Final figures are in and all up $32,036.37 was raised across Australia for the 2016 Twitchathon, a great effort by all of the teams who participated, 109 in total.

Sth NSW/ACT: $18,230.85 - Gould’s Petrel and White-faced Storm-petrel Work endorsed by BirdLife Special interest group Australasian Seabird Group (ASG) and Science Services Division under the  Office of Environment and Heritage – work entails infrastructure work on Cabbage tree island and habitat rehabilitation and work on Broughten Island to attract White-faced Storm-petrels back to the island now that rats have been eradicated

QLD -- $4,555.00 split between Eungella Honeyeater BirdLife Mackay and Capricorn Yellow Chat BirdLife Capricornia  - tackling both Rubber Vine and Harrisia Cactus infestations of Capricorn Yellow Chat habitat

NT Princess Parrot Project – $308.00, A campaign to raise funds to kick off the project is underway by BirdLife Australia

WAAustralasian Bittern - $1,806.50, reinvigorating BirdLife WA Bittern project

TAS -- Wedge-tailed Eagle - $1,394.65 University of Tasmania PhD student, James Pay

VIC -- Shorebirds 2020 program $2,511.00 – supporting BirdLife Australia Shorebirds 2020 project.

 SA: $721.23 - Samphire Coast Icon Project ongoing maintenance of shorebird habitat on the samphire coast.
