BirdLife East Gippsland KBA lakes project

BirdLife East Gippsland initiated a long term project to monitor the wetland birds of the Gippsland Lakes Important Bird Area/Key Biodiversty Area in 2011.  We intend to continue with our six-monthly surveys for as long as possible to chart the fortunes of our wetland birds as a window on the ecological health of this important Ramsar Site.
