Alec James Willows is a 23 year old currently studying biodiversity and conservation at Macquarie University.  His interest in birds was greatly influenced by his father and grandfather who were both avid bird watchers and bird banders.  At 6 years old he got his first field guide to Australian birds which has been with him ever since.  One of his greatest birding experiences was recently visiting Sri Lanka and being witness to the beautiful array of species present, such as the Asian Paradise Flycatcher and Orange Minivet.  Alec volunteers at the Discovery Centre and has helped out at BirdLife stalls at Willoughby Fauna Fair.
