Meet Our Volunteers and Committee Members from Sth NSW

Judy Christie, Committee Member

Judy Christie brings her passion for birds and a background in bush regeneration and sustainability education to the BirdLife Southern NSW Committee, which she joined this year. Judy has already had a long involvement with BirdLife through the Birds in Backyards Program having been a member of the BIBY Advisory Committee since 2000.  Judy worked in catchment management in Sydney where her focus was on engaging local councils and urban community groups in biodiversity restoration and education activities.  She now coordinates a local Bushcare group In Forest Lodge and assists with Glebe‚Äôs Blue Wren Committee. Her inspiration comes from both the enjoyment of seeing birds in her inner city backyard and the thrill of discovering a new bird in remote outback places. Judy has worked as a teacher, horticulturalist and community facilitator and has a Masters Degree in Environmental Education from Macquarie University.
