Act for birds - Community Forum - Perth

On Wednesday night at the WA Ecology Centre an enthusiastic crowd packed the room to learn more about nature laws.

As we kicked off, the cries of Carnaby's rang out overhead.

To kick off the night, The Carnaby's Cockatoo Action Group inspired all with their story of how "not anybody special, just a group of people who love Carnaby's" formed here two years ago to prevent the extinction of Perth's Carnaby's Black-Cockatoo.

To follow, Declan Doherty from WA EDO gave us some rousing insight into the irreversible damage that can be done when a "tyranny of small decisions" are approved in isolation, without oversight, and with "too many flexible and unenforceable exemptions."

Afterwards, we all wrote letters to our ministers!

Next stop, Adelaide!
